Using Saved Templates

Apply saved templates to speed up pricelist imports.

Using a Template

When uploading a file:

  1. Upload the file
  2. Click "Use Template" button
  3. Select the template from the dropdown
  4. Verify the mappings look correct
  5. Continue with import

Auto-Detection

Pricelist Heaven can automatically detect which template to use based on:

  • Column headers matching
  • Column count
  • Supplier

If auto-detection finds a match, you'll see: "✓ Detected template: [Template Name]"

You can still change to a different template or map manually.

When Templates Don't Match

If the file format has changed:

  • New columns: Map the new columns, others use template
  • Missing columns: Fields without matching columns show as unmapped
  • Different order: Column order doesn't matter, matching is by header name

Updating vs. Creating New

If the supplier's format changed slightly:

  • Small changes: Update the existing template
  • Major changes: Create a new template

Template Not Working?

Check Column Headers

Templates match by column header name. If your supplier changed headers (e.g., "Price" → "Prijs"), update the template.

Check File Format

Templates are specific to CSV or Excel. Don't use an Excel template for CSV files.

Re-map Manually

You can always skip the template and map manually.
